Healthy Eating on the Go Series: Ginger Juice

I'm always on the lookout for healthy but delicious food that I don't have to prepare. Sometimes you need a quick meal and there just isn't time to shop and cook! Recently I was given a gift card to a local place called Ginger Juice in Richmond, Virginia. I had heard the name before and friends had told me about it on several occasions but it took the gift card to make me go. My son and I decided to visit one warm Saturday and I was pleasantly surprised by the menu for several reasons. The menu boasts juices, smoothies, avocado toast, soups, açaí bowls and superfood lattes. Sometimes these foods can contain hidden sugars and added fats but I was pleasantly surprised when I did some inquiry into the ingredients. All the milks for the smoothies are plant-based and unsweetened, they don't add any sweeteners to the juices, smoothies or bowls and when I asked for no oil drizzle on my avocado toast they were more than happy to oblige. The bread for the avocado toasts looks delicious although I haven't personally tried it. For those with a gluten sensitivity like me they also have a gluten-free option for the avocado toasts which makes me extra happy! This establishment is a great, quick, healthy option so if you are in the area stop by and support them!
